The Exceptionally Elderly Overweight Black Man Phoenix

With this new work Moses reflects on what happens when the viewpoints of an “exceptionally elderly overweight Black man” are re-created by a multicultural company of young, athletic dance artists. The evening is a telling and retelling of one artist’s life-time of perspectives through the dancing of his much younger company.

The Lightbulb Ensemble
Brian Baumbusch's 'The Pressure'

The work, entitled The Pressure, features more than 25 players including the composer’s own Lightbulb Ensemble, a flexible group of 20 percussionists, along with the San Francisco-based Friction String Quartet, a keyboardist, and four singers/narrators.
